Ambitious individuals realize that powerful and persuasive business communication skills are critical to success. Ever-evolving technology and shrinking travel budgets make face-to-face meetings increasingly rare. Our latest communications challenge is to deliver effective business presentations remotely.
How do you keep a remote audience engaged? Whether you deliver a sales presentations through online meetings or train employees through webinars, it’s important to develop strong presentation skills, essential to keeping any audience “tuned in.”
Build audience interaction into your remote presentation. For example, stop and ask, “Based on what you have heard so far, what are your questions?” When developing a presentation you will deliver remotely, tailor your content to maximize both the intellectual and emotional connection with your listeners. Remember, that emotion comes from engaging your listeners’ imaginations, involving them in illustrative stories, frequently using the word “you,” and from answering their unspoken question, “What’s in this for me?”
In this brief video sample from FrippVT, I introduce some basic principles of delivering a webinar.
