My brother Robert Fripp is as brilliant a thinker, writer, speaker as he is a musician. When I read his on-line diary (that he insists is not a blog) I always think. The photos that he adds to personalize his life is wonderful Enjoy…
The House Where Music Lives.
In the house where Music lives, Music was sitting in Silence, when there was a knock upon the door. A musician had come to visit.
Who’s there? asked Music.
It’s me! replied the musician.
Go away! said Music.
The musician returned to the world of noise and soundings. After years of journeying to many musical cultures, and as an older and wiser player, the musician returned to the house where Music lives; and knocked once more upon the door, where Music was sitting in Silence.
Who’s there? asked Music.
It is you! replied the Musician.
Then why are you knocking? asked Music. You already live here!

Dear Robert, it is so great to see you sharing your thoughts and experiences to the world. I am from Colombia and just turn 41. Since I was 9 you have become part of my life, when I started listening to KC, my favorite band ever. Your amazing musical creations have influenced me emotionally and contributed a lot to my personality.. I beleive your words would do that to me as well. Many times when i wanted to be alone, you were my best friend and company. I spent hours listening to all KC albums and your solo albums, spcially the first ones with Brian Eno that were absolutely beautiful, innovative, creative and deeply emotional for that time. My most special and happy moment in life was when I saw you and CK in concert in Atlanta in March 3,2003. Now that you are in a different role, please keep sharing your thoughts with human kind.
It makes me very happy to write you and letting you know that you are my favorite guitar player and that my life wouldnt be the same without you. God bless you!.
Huge fan here. I’m interested in using Robert’s music from the The Robert Fripp String Quintet in a puzzle game I have designed. The puzzle is based around the art work of Piet Mondrian. I find the combination of abstract art and music creates a nice experience. Just a feeler, let me know if you would be at all interested please.
Thanks!
